The authoritative voice of
Denturism in Canada
Welcome to The Denturist Association of Canada
The Denturist Association of Canada is the authoritative voice of Denturism in Canada. Its MISSION is to pursue the advancement of the profession through education, communication amongst members, liaison with external agencies, and to encourage excellence in the provision of denture services to all Canadians.
National
Throughout Canada, an evolution to use of the professional name "Denturist" has taken place. In the early years of Canadian Denturism, Denturists may have been referred to as "Dental Mechanics", "Denture Therapists", or "Denturologists/Denturologistes" (in French-Canada).
Global
Although "denturism" as we now define it was unknown then, it was already becoming a worldwide development. The idea of the allowing of a non-dentist to perform designated dental procedures arose from a New Zealand dental nursing program.

The Denturist Association of Canada with the support of Provincial Associations (PA), insurance carriers, network suppliers and software vendors, have established a network that allows you to submit claims and pre-treatment plans electronically (EDI). This network provides you with an efficient method of sending information to insurance carriers and reduces the turnaround time for claim payment. Lost or delayed claim forms will become a thing of the past, and patient queries regarding procedures and coverage may be answered within minutes!
A Denturist is defined as a ‘dental’ health care professional who provides denture care directly to the public. A Denturist is an independent, self-regulated professional who works with other oral healthcare providers, including Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Technicians, Dental Assistants, and Oral Surgeons, as part of the Oral Healthcare Team to provide the best denture care and service to their patients. In Canada, Denturist services span a wide spectrum, encompassing oral examinations, medical and dental history reviews, impressions, denture design and fabrication, insertion, as well as repairs, relines, adjustments, and the supervision of auxiliary personnel. This collaborative and patient-centered approach ensures a comprehensive and well-rounded provision of denture care.
